The Upshur Area Amateur Radio Club (UAARC) will be participating in the annual ARRL Field Day this year. The event will be held in Upshur County off of FM 1972 near Diana. On June 24th, there will be a large sign at the event site as well as signs at the intersections of FM 1649/FM 1972 and FM 726/FM 1972 with specific location information. Field Day is the largest Amateur Radio on-the-air event held in the US and is a chance for HAM’s to practice emergency communications, meet new people, and just have fun! The event runs for 24 hours and we will start operating at 1:00pm (18:00 UTC) on Saturday, June 24th. Licensed amateur radio operators and anyone interested in the hobby are encouraged to stop by and visit with us or even get on the air and make some contacts! To learn more about Field Day visit www.arrl.org. Talk in frequency will be the K5UAR repeater, 146.94MHz, (-) offset, 107.2Hz tone.
