Greetings!
I am a competitor in the NCFCA Christian Speech & Debate League, and I’m writing to let you know that we will be having a tournament from January 16 – 18, 2025, at Flint Baptist Church. My fellow competitors and I would love to have you join us as we work to sharpen our skills to communicate truth with integrity and grace.
We need support from community volunteers who give their time to judge rounds of competition. No experience is necessary because competitors (ages 12-18) are practicing real-world communication, and we benefit from well-rounded feedback from adults with a variety of perspectives. Your input can truly make a difference to us.
Would you consider volunteering to judge a round of speech or debate?
Judging one round requires a commitment of approximately three hours. Your experience will include a brief training video, watching and listening to the students assigned to your room, filling out ballots to rank the competitors, and offering any feedback you have. The tournament staff will offer light refreshments and will provide validation of community service hours upon request. I think you’ll also find the tournament fun!
To learn more about judging and register to judge, please visit NCFCA.org/judge. From there, you can watch videos about judging, learn about the events, and sign up to judge by clicking on the “find a tournament” button. Look for Flint, TX Qualifier to see the schedule of rounds available and choose one or more that work for you.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this invitation. We hope you will be blessed by what you experience if you join us! If you have any questions about registration, please get in touch with our Community Judge Coordinator, Rachel Allison, at FlintJudges@NCFCA.org or 832.298.1222.
Judges must be 18 or older, no longer in high school, and not eligible for NCFCA competition during the current season.
