The time has come again for our Golf Tournament, Banquet and Auction. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, September 28th.
The previous event was a triumph, with thirteen teams of four enjoying a day of golf and camaraderie. Despite no one claiming the Hole In One prize, the day was filled with laughter and enjoyable moments.
During the dinner and auction, we were pleased to have most of the golfers in attendance. We acknowledged the first and second place teams with prizes. The sponsors took a few minutes to discuss their products, and then the excitement escalated with the auction. Church members contributed handmade items for bidding, while some businesses donated gift certificates and products for the auction.
The event was a success, attracting 120 attendees and generating a profit of $6,300. The Women’s Ministry has utilized these funds to support the outreach group in feeding the homeless and supplying blankets for the winter. Additionally, the proceeds have enabled us to host a community Christian concert, enhance our Fellowship Hall with new tables and chairs, and support the Mantooth and Kirkland homes, which offer housing and aftercare for individuals recovering from addiction. Furthermore, we have contributed to various community outreach initiatives, providing educational classes, personal mentoring, and financial aid during challenging times.
The Golf Tournament is $ 80 per person / $ 320 team while the Banquet/Dinner is free to anyone in the area that wants to fellowship and come. The Golf Tournament will start with a breakfast at the Neches Pines Golf Course in Diboll. After dinner, go home and freshen up and return to Trinity Baptist Church in Lufkin at 6 for a free dinner and auction. Everyone is invited to attend!
